Here is where you can download things. My .pet files are all compatible with Petz 4 initially, and my breedfiles are unibreeds! You can edit/redistribute these as long as you give a heads up about the source of the original file (me), and if you do I'd love to see it! Each file comes with a readme because I would never leave you struggling alone in the dark with files. Capisce?
If you're new to custom breedfiles and pets, adding them to your game is very simple! Here's a step-by-step:
- Download your desired file and extract its contents.
- Navigate to your Petz install folder on your computer.
- For a .pet: Move the .pet file to your Adopted Pets folder and any dependencies (such as textures or custom sounds) to either /resource/dogz or /resource/catz depending on which is appropriate. My files readmes all say which one to put it in! This may also vary between who has created your source file-some people use different paths for audio, textures, etc. and will probably specify this with their files as well. Next time you open up the game your .pet will be available in the carrier!
- For a breedfile: Move the .cat or .dog file to either /resource/catz or /resource/dogz respectively. Follow above step for dependencies. Go to the adoption center and adopt out your new breed!
